Residential Campground Marin Village will provide a safe, protected, and supervised residential housing program for a City in Marin or on Marin County Property. This is a new hybrid model for addressing Marin's challenging housing needs. Marin Village will be creative design with compassion. It incorporates the unhoused own or supplied tent structures within allocated spaces throughout the grounds. We are surveying County of Marin and the City of Novato properties to identify locations that would address the Project needs. Several locations are under consideration. Priorities include convenient public transportation and access to City and County Services. Marin Village will reflect traditional campground layout with formal spaces and a central parking area. The facilities will include gender separated permanent restrooms and showers. Potable water and waste/recycle management stations will be located throughout the grounds. A full time Village Manager will reside on site. Additional daytime staff will maintain the grounds and provide supervision and counseling. Security, Medical Services, and Mental Health Services will be provided. The specific details of which will be part of the design and planning period.
